TURNER MACDONALD is a small firm of lawyers and human resource professionals. Our purpose is to provide risk management in relation to legal issues that arise in a day-to-day transactional business.

 

Legal risk exists where small issues grow into large issues that then require litigation to resolve which will result in the inflation of legal costs from cents to dollars.

 

We offer services across four legal domains:

3. Insurance law (risk management)

4. Criminal law (commercial)

 

Many, if not most legal issues start as small problems that are either left to grow or are mismanaged. We will address these problems early thereby preventing them from escalating into far more serious legal issues, requiring as the only remaining option, litigation, which is inherently uncertain in outcome, time consuming and expensive. As we will work closely with our clients, on a day-to-day basis where necessary, it is important that we are:

 

• Local to our clients and can travel to you in person; and

• Have a small number of clients, which allows us to understand the nature of your business and risks that may be unique to that business structure; and

• Phone access to advice between 7am and 8pm Monday through Sunday with relation to any issues you may have. Between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday, we can attend in person when issues require a higher level of intervention.

 

Our client base will be restricted to 20 clients. You will always deal with the same person and team. You will not have to re-explain your problem to a new person who does not know the history of your problem.

 

Our pricing can be so competitive because we take a holistic approach to the four jurisdictions of law (Employment, Insolvency, Insurance (and Criminal)) that we service.

 

Employment law services that we provide can be legally serviced in part by non-qualified lawyers – for example by Human Resource professionals and our competition utilise exclusively this model. We, by contrast have a mix of lawyers and Human Resource professionals.

 

There also exist a number of debt collection agencies that will collect on outstanding debts, that do not employ lawyers, but in difficult cases, will sub-contract the case to a law firm. Insurance and Criminal law remain in the domain of lawyers and law firms. We as a mixture of lawyers and Human Resource professionals, are able to provide competitively priced services that run the full range from pure human resource services to legal services with litigation in the High Court and above.

 

Therefore, whether the issue is relatively minor, or significant, we have the ability and expertise, to manage your risks and exposures.
